Explore the relationships between materials and create a hand held device that plays with hard and soft materials.

I choose to go with the center idea of two different sized rolling spheres. I enjoyed the smooth movement and satisfaction of it fitting in my hand. I made a wooden model to further consolidate this idea. I also made one out of foam and this is how I discovered the rolling of the pin between your fingers as a way to also hold it.

Concept Refinement

I considered different versions of shapes for tops, such as with an indent for the thumb as well as spinning a square around the circle, and would love to explore those in the future. I decided to go with a more simplistic form that fits very comfortably in my hand.
