Prompt: Produce an abstracted curvilinear form that extends the hand to facilitate scraping, lifting, and flipping. Develop, refine, and describe forms through drawing, modeling, and craft.
Duration: 4 weeks (Spring 2024)
Tools: SolidWorks, Planar, Joiner, Table Saw, Router, Files.
Phase 1 Ideation
Exploring different curvilinear shapes, proportions, and angles + making lots of foam models to practice technique and visualize.
Modeling
Using the bandsaw & the disc, belt and spindle sanders worked on creating rough overall form.
Using Processed wood with joiner + planar.
